General Elections: Held in November of every even-numbered year.
Primary Elections: Held for nominating party nominees for the General Election, 12 weeks before the General Election.
Presidential Preference Primary Elections: Held for nominating party nominees for a Presidential Election, held no earlier than the first Tuesday in January and no later than the first Tuesday in March of Presidential Election years.
Voting in a Primary Election: Florida is a CLOSED Primary State. When voting in a Primary Election you can only vote in the party with which you are registered when the registration books close for that election.
Special elections and municipal elections may be called at any time during the year.
